Only candidates who have the requisite qualification from foreign universities or Boards of Higher Education recognised as equivalent to the +2 stage of India by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi are eligible for admission.

If required, candidates will be asked to obtain the ‘eligibility certificate’ from the AIU, New Delhi.

Admissions are in conformity with the guidelines set by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Statutory Bodies of India like the UGC, AICTE, BCI, NCHMCT and DSIR etc.

Admission Procedure

The procedure for admission is given below:

Step 1:

International students should apply on a separate form prescribed for Foreign nationals/NRI/Sponsored candidates. Available on https://admissions.srmuniversity.ac.in
The candidate preferably has to apply/register on the prescribed form ONLINE at https://admissions.srmuniversity.ac.in or OFFLINE by contacting the International Admission office ( [email protected] ).
The application form registration fee of 3000 INR / 50 USD is required to be paid through a crossed Bank Demand Draft drawn in favor of SRMERI payable at New Delhi.

Step 2:

Get the Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) from the Directorate of International Affairs, in order to obtain the VISA (on payment of nonrefundable advance amount of 500 USD or the Indian equivalent).

Step 3:

Submit the Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) to the Indian Embassy of the respective country for obtaining the ‘Student/Research VISA’.

Step 4:

Report at SRMUH for admission on or before the enrolment date (mentioned on the PAL). Submit the below mentioned documents (in original along with the attested photocopies) and get them verified by the Directorate of International Affairs.

A photocopy of the Passport- duly attested by a Notary.

Note: The original certificates will be returned to the students immediately after making an endorsement.

Step 5:

Students are required to undergo the medical fitness examination and get the medical fitness certificate. As per government rules, all international students entering India on ‘Student VISA’ have to be tested for HIV. All international students will be required to obtain any recognized medical insurance cover for the first year (For subsequent years medical insurance fee shall apply).

Step 6:

For applicants who have undertaken their studies in a language other than English need to have a valid IELTS/TOEFL Score.

Apart from Annual and other fees of the main program of study at SRMUH, students will also have to pay for this English Language Foundation Course as per the Institute prescribed fee structure if their previous study does not have English as medium of instruction.

Step 7:

Admission of International/NRI students will be confirmed after verification of original certificates, medical fitness test and payment of required fees. Even after the admission, at any stage if it is noted that the qualifying Degree/Certificate is not recognized by AIU, the admission of the candidate may be cancelled. Withdrawal of admissions/refund of fee cases will be dealt as per the guidelines of SRMUH in this regard.

Step 8:

Within a week of arrival in India, students are required to register their names with the police in the ‘Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO)’ of Sonepat. Alternatively, one may apply online through e-FRRO portal based outside of New Delhi.

VISA Information

All international students will require a ‘Student VISA’ regarding UG/PG Programmes endorsed to SRM University Sonepat, Haryana for joining full time courses. No other endorsement is acceptable. Students wishing to join a research program will require a ‘Research VISA’ endorsed to SRM University Sonepat, Haryana. The visa should be valid for the prescribed duration of the course. Visa may be obtained after issuing offer of admission.

Visa is not required for NRI students. Students who are doing full time courses in some other institutions do not require a separate visa for joining ‘Part Time courses’ provided that their current visa is valid for the entire duration of the course.

All International Students wishing to undertake any research work or join a M.Sc./PhD program will have to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and this must be on the student visa/research visa endorsed to this institution.

Q. Is there any application fee? Can one get a waiver for it?

A. Yes there is an application fee (50USD) which needs to be paid by the candidate at the time of filling the online application form. Yes, a student can be waived from application fee when endorsed by competent authority.

Q. Do SRMUH offer financial aid or scholarships to international students?

A. Yes, based on various criteria viz. Sports, Merit, economical background, differently-able people etc., any scholarship to be obtained will be approved by the scholarship committee.

Q. When does the course begin?

A. University academic session begins by September. The session comprises of two semesters of six months each, i.e, August to December & January to June.

Q. Do I have to live in campus?

A. University provides In house AC/Non AC Hostel facility for the students. For safety purposes it is strongly recommended to stay in the University Premises.

Q. How many international students are there at SRMUH?

A. There is a good number of students from Asia and Africa who are enrolled in full time course. Japanese and American students come on an exchange program.

Q. Option available for food (Menu,restaurants,etc)?

A. University offers the Hostel and canteen facility for the students. The Food quality and quantity is enriched with various Menu and cuisines from various part of Nation. Apart from this, the mess facility which provides Breakfast, Lunch, and Diner University also have Cafeterias where students can pay and eat.

Q. Is there a health centre in campus?

A. University runs PRIMSR Hospital which offers Day care OPD to students, staff and other people from neighbouring areas.

Q. When does the tuition fee need to be paid?

A. The complete Tuition fees needs to be paid before the commencement of classes.

Q. Do you provide International placements?

A. Yes, University do provide facility for International Placements.

Q. Is there any accommodation facility for visitors(relatives)?

A. Yes, University can make such arrangements for the relatives of the students with the permission and approval from the competent authority(International relation coordinator & Hostel warden) but the information has to reach 10 days prior to their office so that requisite arrangements can be done for the same.
