Adti was fond of literature. Words made sense to her. So she opted for BA English Honours. But in her second year, her cousin asked her a question that hung in her thoughts for weeks. What are you going to do with this degree anyway? Aditi didn’t know it.

This question haunts many students of BA English Honours colleges in Delhi. English Honours will educate you to read well and write well. But that’s not enough in today’s job environment. Here’s the good news. English isn’t dead. Just need to put a few clever talents on top of it.

There are a lot of individuals who assume the only thing you can do with an English degree is teach. That’s no longer true.

The degree gives you a good foundation. How far you travel depends on the new skills that you build.

So it’s not the degree. Direction is what’s missing. In three growing fields, there is a way to be found. Publishing, EdTech, content strategy.

Publishing is so old school. But it is, in fact, changing fast, and it requires English graduates more than ever before.

Publishing is a sluggish industry but a steady one. If improving other people’s writing is what Aditi likes, then this is the way to go for her.

EdTech is an abbreviation for educational technology. It’s all about apps, online courses, and digital classrooms.

EdTech is teaching + writing. If Aditi appreciates lucidly discussing things, this is the right path for her.

The term content strategy is newer. It’s about what content a brand should be creating and why.

These days, every firm requires blogs, social media updates, and content for their website.

This is a field that pays well early on, as corporations are snapping up these opportunities quickly right now.

Content Strategy rewards writers and thinkers who can step into the reader’s shoes. English Honours is teaching this already.

Why Is English Honours Still a Smart Choice Today?
