Introduction

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering organized the AWS Builder Event & Onboarding Drive on 25th August 2026 to provide undergraduate engineering students with practical exposure to modern cloud architectures, serverless computing, and Generative AI developer workflows on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The drive focused on enabling students from their very first year to connect theoretical computer science concepts with enterprise cloud infrastructure through verified AWS Builder ID onboarding, interactive technical tracks, and industry learning pathways.

Objectives

  • To provide students with hands-on exposure to cloud computing and Amazon Web Services (AWS) ecosystems.
  • To facilitate live, on-the-spot creation and authentication of official AWS Builder IDs for participating students.
  • To familiarize students with foundational cloud concepts, scalable application hosting, and Generative AI pathways on AWS.
  • To bridge the gap between academic curriculum and real-world enterprise cloud practices.
  • To encourage cross-domain student ideation across Artificial Intelligence, Web Applications, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and Cybersecurity.

Key Highlights

Execution & Onboarding Drive — 25tAugust 2026

The AWS Builder Event was conducted at the Ground Floor Foyer Area of the New Building. The programme commenced with an introduction to the global AWS Student Community and the benefits of early cloud enablement for engineering undergraduates.

To manage the immense student turnout, three dedicated registration desks staffed by student organizers and equipped with digital terminals were deployed. The volunteer team guided participants through the step-by-step verification and account authentication process on the AWS Builder portal, successfully registering over 650+ students across the session.

Alongside digital registrations, an interactive technical ideation board titled "What will you build next?" was set up. Students actively engaged with specialized tracks spanning AI, Cloud Apps, Data, and Security, pitching real-world problem statements and pinning their project concepts.

To celebrate student participation, official AWS Builder Center merchandise, including custom-embroidered AWS caps and thermal tumblers, was distributed to verified students. Additionally, a professional headshot booth with softbox studio lighting was operated to provide students with high-quality profile photos for technical resumes and developer portfolios.

The event was smoothly coordinated under the faculty leadership of Dr. Ruchi Kawatra (Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE) and Student Builder Leader Mr. Vansh, supported by a 12-member student volunteer team managing technical desks and queue logistics.

Conclusion

The AWS Builder Event successfully provided over 650+ students with a structured entry into cloud computing and developer ecosystems. By combining on-the-spot account authentication, interactive domain mapping, and access to AWS Skill Builder learning pathways, the drive bridged the gap between academic theory and practical enterprise cloud technologies.

The initiative has laid a robust foundation for upcoming technical workshops, certification preparation cohorts, and campus hackathons under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
