The Department of Biomedical Engineering, SRM University, successfully organized an industrial visit for B.Tech 2nd Year and 3rd Year students to UM Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd. on 8th May 2026.

The visit provided students with valuable industry exposure and enhanced their understanding of the practical applications of biomedical engineering concepts in the healthcare sector. During the visit, students participated in a guided tour of the facility and attended an interactive technical session conducted by industry experts.

The sessions focused on key biomedical systems and equipment, including ICU equipment, cardiology devices, laparoscopy systems, endoscopy systems, and OT equipment. Students also gained practical insights into equipment handling, preventive maintenance, calibration procedures, safety protocols, and standard industry practices followed in the biomedical field.

The industrial visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, helping students bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications. The interaction with professionals from the healthcare industry significantly enhanced their technical knowledge and broadened their awareness of career opportunities in the biomedical domain.
