Introduction

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat organized a live-streaming session on “Strengthening Research and Innovation Ecosystems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation.” The session was conducted as part of the initiatives of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and focused on strengthening research, innovation and institutional transformation in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).

The programme provided faculty members with an opportunity to understand the MANTHAN and UTTHAN initiatives associated with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India. The session emphasized collaboration, innovation and transformation as important components of developing a strong and future-ready research and innovation ecosystem in HEIs.

Objectives

The major objectives of the session were:

• To create awareness about the MANTHAN and UTTHAN initiatives for strengthening research and innovation ecosystems in HEIs.
• To familiarize faculty members with national-level initiatives promoting collaboration, innovation and institutional transformation.
• To encourage faculty members to actively participate in research and innovation activities.
• To promote collaboration and partnerships for developing impactful research and innovative solutions.
• To encourage the translation of ideas, technologies and innovations into practical solutions.
• To strengthen the institutional research and innovation ecosystem through MIC and IIC initiatives.

Participation

More than 15 faculty members of SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat participated in the live-streaming session. The participants attended the programme at Room No. 211, CIIE, and actively engaged with the session focusing on strengthening research and innovation ecosystems in Higher Educational Institutions.

The participation of faculty members reflected the growing interest and institutional commitment towards promoting research, innovation, collaboration and technology-driven solutions.

Key Highlights of the Session

The session provided an overview of the MANTHAN and UTTHAN initiatives and their relevance in strengthening research and innovation ecosystems within Higher Educational Institutions.

The programme highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation and transformation in creating future-ready institutions. Participants were encouraged to develop partnerships and collaborative approaches for addressing societal and technological challenges through research and innovation.

Outcome of the Event

The programme successfully created awareness among faculty members regarding the MANTHAN and UTTHAN initiatives and their potential role in strengthening research and innovation ecosystems in Higher Educational Institutions.

The session encouraged faculty members to explore opportunities for collaborative research, innovation, partnerships and technology-driven solutions. It also contributed towards the objectives of the Institution’s Innovation Council by promoting greater awareness and participation in research and innovation activities.

The programme further strengthened the institutional focus on developing a collaborative, innovative and future-ready research ecosystem aligned with national initiatives.

Conclusion

The live session on “Strengthening Research and Innovation Ecosystems in HEIs: Leveraging MANTHAN and UTTHAN for Institutional Transformation” was successfully conducted in Room No. 211, CIIE, with the participation of 15+ faculty members. The session served as a valuable platform for faculty members to gain awareness about national initiatives related to research, innovation and institutional transformation.
