Research Interests

My research interest is to investigate the role of telomeres and telomerase system and epigenetics with adaptation or maladaptation at high altitude hypobaric hypoxia. The relevance of telomere increases because of the prevalence of stress to hypobaric hypoxia at HA. We explored that telomere & telomerase associated genes associated differentially in sojourners/natives and may be potential markers. This study leads for investigation of the association of telomere in extreme environment of hypobaric hypoxia having low pressure, low oxygen and high radiation. Moreover, many diseases are having hypoxia in their pathogenesis including Covid-19 & cancer. So future research objectives are to investigate the association of telomeres and telomerase associated biomarkers in disease pathogenesis of oxidative stress associated diseases including High Altitude disorders, cancer and Covid-19.
